The Gladhart family invites newcomers and wine club members alike to the Winter’s Hill annual Rosé Release Party this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is the first time fans will be able to sample or purchase the 2014 Dry Rose of Pinot Noir. A $10 tasting fee covers visitors but is waived for wine club members.
Rosé is a perfect spring and summer picnic wine, but don’t get the wrong idea. This is a dry rosé made from Pinot Noir grapes, so it’s not as sweet as many rosés. Because rosés don’t benefit from an aging process like red wines, the current vintage year is the way to go. Rosés pair nicely with many foods, including those right off the grill. Wine and barbecue? Absolutely! Visit Winter’s Hill Vineyard on Saturday and stock up in preparation for some warm evenings on the patio with friends.
